Joel CampbellIt was only yesterday that Gazzetta dello Sport claimed Joel Campbell was set to seal a season-long loan move to Palermo.

However, the Italian publication today suggests the Serie A club have made an initial offer of £5 million for the tricky forward.

Although Arsene Wenger rates the forward highly, it is now believed the Frenchman is mulling over the idea of allowing him to leave the club on a permanent transfer.

But the £5 million proposed bid is still some way off from what the Gunners value Campbell at.

While Palermo had originally been considering a loan move for Campbell, the Italian outfit are now pondering the idea of signing the forward outright, if they can afford him.

Campbell has been loaned out on four separate occasions since joining Arsenal from Deportivo Saprissa in 2011 and, one way or another, the Costa Rican looks certain to leave the Emirates this summer.

  • Bakri says:

This player has been on loan more than three times , if he is not good enough to play for arsenal then he should be sold now instead of allowing go free at the end of his contract.
