Is he REALLY worth £67M to Arsenal?

gonzalo higuainOnly yesterday, reports suggested Arsenal were ready to launch a £42.5 million move for Gonzalo Higuain. And it seems there was some truth behind the claim after Napoli, according to reports in Italy, rejected the offer, and will only do business if the Argentine’s £67 million buyout clause is met.

However, Gazetta.it also suggests the Gunners are unwilling to increase their offer of £42.5 million and are prepared to seek out other alternatives.

Higuain is thought to be open to a move away from the Naples clubs this summer, as the Argentine wants to play Champions League football next season, something his current club can’t offer.

But are Arsenal right not to offer more than £42.5 million for the services of Higuain, or should they just stump up what Napoli want (£67 million) for the Argentina international?

As much as I like him, I don’t think Higuain is worth £67 million – I don’t think he is even worth £42.5 million – and if Napoli are unwilling to play ball and will only do business if the player’s buyout clause is met, then Arsenal shouldn’t waste their time and look at alternative options available this summer.

Yes, Higuain is a proven goal-scorer and could well fire us to Premier League glory, if we sign him. But Napoli are overpricing the 27-year-old, and I’m glad, if reports are to be believed, that Wenger and the club are sticking to their guns on this one – no pun intended, honest.

All rubbish speculation. No way Wenger will pay £42.5m for a player he does not rate that much. If he did not pay it 2 years ago when he was badly in need of a marquee signing, why now when the player is 2 years older? And it’s not as if the man has been lighting up Serie A with goals.

£67 million??!! No way!! There are maybe four guys that could be worth that kind of money.
Three of them in Spain and the fourth in France. Nobody else. Forget about Higuain and look elsewhere.

please Sir. do not use such money on a player like Higuain because he did not even worth 40% of such money. he is the worst attacker ever in the history of football. why can’t you look for players like; Benzima, Vidal, cavani, Jackson M., Vargas, or even Aguaro etc. who can hold on the ball and score goals for us. for get about Higuain he is not a player to be admire, he has destroy so his country not less than once.

All we need is a DM. And Morgan is the perfect suit for it. Not a striker. Not at all a class like Higuaín. He is just similar to Giroud. Does not dribble, rues chances, low work rate. We have Theo as a perfect striker. That’s why he is given the No 14. You all know what I mean.

For Hugain with that amount, talk about Di Maria or Benzima plz

  • klynz says:

payin that kind of money on higuain is a waste sir. Better go for vidal, cavani, william carvalho and a good defender. Please dont forget to offload arteta, flamini, giroud nd per.
