sergej milinkovicArsenal are on the trail of Genk midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to reports in Italy.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a fruitful season with the Belgian outfit, scoring five goals from midfield, and the Gunners are said to be impressed and keen to land him this summer.

But they face stern competition from Lazio, Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund for his signature.

Lazio are currently leading the chase for Milinkovic-Savic and have launched the first bid for the youngster, reportedly a £4.3 million one.

However, the bid was rejected by Genk, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

Arsenal are yet to make a bid for Milinkovic-Savic, but could make an enquiry in the upcoming weeks.

Although primarily a centre-midfielder, Milinkovic-Savic can also operate as a holding midfielder and an attacking one as well. He also has four-years left on his Genk contract, meaning a only an offer to good to turn down would see him leave the Belgian side this summer.

He may have potential and a future star in the making, but Arsenal need to think about the present and add players to the squad this summer that will slot straight into the starting line-up this season, and Serbian youngster wouldn’t do so if we signed him.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, is a young , strong and very tall player. good potential for the future. Arsenal should have done their homework during the season because the world will not be waiting for them to make up their mind . if they are confident about the players they want , they should move quickly to reach agreements with thses players and their clubs.
