FlaminiArsenal have agreed to sell Mathieu Flamini to Galatasaray, according to reports in Turkey.

The 31-year-old midfielder made just 15 Premier League starts last season for the Gunners and was overlooked as the campaign wore on by Arsene Wenger after the emergence of Francis Coquelin.

Flamini’s last league start came back in December last year and while he insists he is happy to be a bit-part player for the club, the Frenchman is expected to depart this summer as he enters the final year of his contract at the Emirates.

Bastia have previously been linked with a move for Flamini, but Turkish newspapers AmkSpor and MedyaHaber both suggested that Galatasaray have now agreed a £2.7 million deal with Arsenal for the former AC Milan man.

It is claimed that the deal will be completed within the week. Should it go through, it would be the second Arsenal player heading to Gala, with Lukas Podolski joining the Turkish club earlier this month.

We do have a number of midfielders in our squad and Flamini doesn’t seem to be in Wenger’s first-team plans this season.

If he leaves, hopefully Wenger brings in a replacement.

I really want Wenger to sign a proven striker,a defensive midfielder and a left back should Monreal leave for Athletic Bilbao.

It’s good that Flamini is going to Galatasaray . We gets another strong defence midfielder quickly if he is to challenge for Epl & Euefa champions league .
