Arsene-WengerSo Karim Benzema looks ‘certain’ to stay put at Real Madrid, according to his agent, while Lyon manager Hubert Fournier says Alexandre Lacazette is not leaving the French club, with the player also echoing his managers’ words.

In a nutshell, and if reports are to be believed, Arsenal will not be getting their hands on either one of their top striking targets this summer, leaving Arsene Wenger to look elsewhere.

So what are Arsenal’s alternatives?

Well here are EIGHT other strikers the Gunners should have a look at:

Ezequiel Lavezzi (PSG)

Is said to be on the verge of departing Paris Saint-Germain, as the French club look to balance their books.

The 30-year-old has previously been linked with a move to Arsenal and his versatility could prove useful.

Although not a centre-forward, Lavezzi, who can play either flank, possesses great pace, trickery and is not afraid to take on defenders. Considering he likes to play wide of a front three, his goal ratio isn’t bad either. Since signing for PSG from Napoli in 2012, the Argentine has netted 32 goals and created nine in a total of 133 appearances so far – a ratio of just over one in four.

He has entered his final year of his contract and with the player himself admitting his uncertainty over his future, Arsenal would do well to register their interest in the Argentine once again.

Lavezzi will cost around £10 million.

Mauro Icardi (Inter Milan)

Known for his agility, strength, technique and an eye for goal, Icardi is another option that Arsenal should consider.

The 22-year-old was the Serie A’s top scorer last season with 22 goals, pipping the likes of Carlos Tevez, Gonzalo Higuain and Luca Toni to the golden boot award.

He joined Inter from Sampdoria two years ago and has managed to net an impressive 32 goals in 73 appearances in all competitions thus far, assisting with nine as well.

Icardi does still have four-years left on his current deal at the San Siro and would cost at least £23 million, but Inter have no European football this season, and the proposition of playing in the Champions League with Arsenal could well interest the young Argentine striker.
