Arsene Wenger has hinted there is no desperate need to add to Arsenal’s attacking options this summer.
The Gunners have been linked with an array of attacking talent this summer, including the likes of Karim Benzema, Gonzalo Higuain and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with club director Lord Harris insisting Wenger has sufficient funds at his disposal to bring in whoever he wants to strengthen the current squad.
However, having seen his side demolish Lyon 6-0 at the Emirates Cup yesterday afternoon, Wenger has once again echoed his thoughts on his current striking options, hinting his side are in no desperate need to add a striker this summer:
‘When you score six goals you don’t have a desperate need (for a striker).
‘We scored four goals in the FA Cup final, we create chances and score goals. We are open-minded, everybody is in the market and many clubs have big, big money.
‘It is not mathematics, there is a logic in the game and that means that everyone is playing for each other, every game is different but I still say that we are open-minded but we are not in desperate need. We did not have (Danny) Welbeck or (Alexis) Sanchez available, they are big players.
‘Many players scored goals and it is in the continuity of what we did at the end of the season and in pre-season as well. We have shown again that we can score goals, that is what people expect from us.’
Arsenal do have a number of forwards at the club, but many of the Emirates faithful believe a top quality striker is needed to push the Gunners over the line this season – and I’m one of them
Olivier Giroud is our main centre-forward and although we do have Welbeck, Sanchez and Theo Walcott, they are all mainly utilized on the flanks of the front three.
I still believe Arsenal need a top striker to challenge Giroud and seriously compete for the Premier League title this season.
Wenger may still buy a new forward this summer, but comments like this makes you think otherwise.

If Madrid said we could buy Benzema, he would do it instantly.
Higuain? No chance. Overrated & overpriced.
Lacazette? Like A Zero more like. Yesterday proved he’s just another Loic Remy.
Aubameyang? I’d rather buy Bolassi from Crystal Palace.
Wenger wants Benzema. That’s it. And that will only happen if Madrid buy Reus. If they don’t, maybe Wenger would be tempted by Reus. but I don’t see any other striker being bought other than those two, and quite right too. Injuries killed us last season, not goals.

A true. Coach don’t talk the way wenger did. Because we scored 6 goals against Lyon then we don’t need a striker. The head do carry things same as the hands. Never can the body come to point to say because the hand can carry then I can do without the head. Mr wenger, the real test has not started. It is when the league starts that you will know whether you need a striker or not. Think properly coach Wenger.
I look around and I don’t see a better club manager than Wenger.he genuinely has the clubs interests at heart http://www.aznews.co.uk he has create a very good Arsenal side without much fanfare and is willing to make it even stronger by buying wisely. Read between the lines and the small print and you get his point. Just hope everyone backs him when the going gets tougher.
I think the coach is not been serious so many years without title and he is happy
If he really wants to win the title then he needs serious strikers and defenders
He shouldn’t be deceived that he won against lyon so the team is in good shape money no be problem the only thing left is to use it

Who is he gonna buy? Bendtner ? Reality is there are 2-3 top strukers out there and if they are not for sale we dont need to buy junk, keep the money and if chance arises i am sure wenger will do it. Examples: özil & alexis and even sNti. So stop slahing and use your common sense. Everything he talks makes sense, we dont need junk, we need top quality but hard to find. Blame liverpool for not respecting suarez contract and lying, otherwise we would already have top striker called luis
