Arsenal are preparing to increase their offer for Karim Benzema to finally land the striker, according to reports in Spain.
The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal once again this summer, with Real Madrid already rejecting a reported £31.3 million bid for the France international.
But Arsenal are ready to table another offer for Benzema, this time with a £35.3 million bid, reports Fichajes.net.
The striker’s agent has recently ruled out a move away from the Bernabeu this summer and Rafa Benitez has also expressed his certainty that Benzema will remain a Real Madrid player this season.
However, it is believed Real are open to the idea of selling Benzema, if they are able to land Marco Reus from Dortmund. But they would only sell for the right price, which is understood to be around the £40 million mark.
Arsenal’s latest bid is bound to be turned down once again, but knowing Real want at least £40 million for Benzema, the Gunners should just stump up another £5 million and get this deal wrapped up once and for all.
