HiguainArsenal are ready to test Napoli’s resolve by offering the Italian club £42.5 million for the services of Gonzalo Higuain, according to reports in Italy.

The 27-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal this summer, with the Argentine thought to be frustrated with life in Italy. It is believed Higuain wants to play Champions League football next season and Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen to add to his attacking options.

A deal between the two clubs looked dead in the water after Napoli valued Higuain at £67 million, but Arsenal haven’t given up hope of landing the Argentina international and are now preparing a £42.5 million offer, according to Sportmediaset.

Wenger has been a keen admirer of Higuain for a number of seasons and came close to signing him before the forward left Real Madrid in 2013.

We could well do with a top striker coming in and, for me, Higuain is certainly in this category.

£42.5 million should be more than enough to land him – hopefully Napoli accept the offer.

he is a good striker but that amount is too huge for a player like him considering his age. let’s go for quick and sharp shooter.

Do we really need Him? Is he worth that much of money??

I feel Arsenal needs a striker who is really good, who can convert the half chances.
Not an average striker who can sit in bench. We already have many average strikers like Welback, Campbell, etc……

We need someone who can directly make into our playing 11 and make Giroud sit on bench.
