Joel CampbellJoel Campbell is on the verge of completing a move to Besiktas, according to reports.

Despite a promising World Cup last summer, the 23-year-old spent the second-half of last season out on loan with Villarreal, and returned to the Emirates with his future still in doubt.

The Costa Rica international seems to have become surplus to requirements at Arsenal, and Arsene Wenger, despite admiring the youngster’s talent, looks set to cash in on the tricky forward.

Real Sociedad have expressed an interest in Campbell, but according to Turkish newspaper AMK, as reported by several publications, Besiktas have tabled a £3.5 million bid for Campbell, with only personal terms to be agreed.

It’s a shame to see Campbell leave as he has potential. But with the players in front of him, like Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Olivier Giroud, Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez, the South American forward will surely be overlooked by Wenger, and the honourable thing to do is to let him leave and become the player he can be.

£3.5 million isn’t a great amount for a player of his ability, but it’s something that can go towards a potential signing this summer.

Course we are. The lads worth at least 15m. As was his valuation just after the WC. How Wenger is sanctioning this is beyond belief, the kid actually has the hunger in every game he plays. You watch the highlights of his time in Spain and tell me he doesn’t

Seems low but reports are often wrong, probably add ons and buy back clauses that arent disclosed
