A HUGE swap deal Arsenal should take?

Ozil VidalJuventus are supposedly interested in Mesut Ozil.

According to Italian publication Tuttosport, the Serie A double winners are considering a £29 million swoop for the German playmaker if either Paul Pogba or Arturo Vidal depart.

Arsenal have been credited with some interest in Pogba, but the Frenchman’s asking-price of £71 million seems to have scared of the Gunners.

However, Arsenal reported interest in Vidal doesn’t seem to be going away. It was claimed earlier this month that a £21 million fee had been agreed with Juventus for the services of the Chilean, but these were quickly quashed by the Italian side.

Vidal, however, is expected to leave Juventus this summer and is understood to be keeping his options open. Real Madrid was believed to have won the race for his John Hancock, but again these rumours were dismissed.

But knowing Juve are keen on Ozil and Arsenal are the same with Vidal, could there be a potential swap deal on the cards this summer?

Ozil hasn’t lived up to expectation for a majority of the Arsenal faithful since his arrival from Real Madrid in 2013, and although Arsene Wenger wouldn’t be keen to let him leave, the Gunners are prone to losing their best players, and his potential departure wouldn’t dampen some Arsenal fans’ spirit.

In addition – as much as I don’t want to see it happen – Arsenal can afford to lose Ozil. Why you ask? Simply because we have Santi Cazorla and other players to fill in. The Spaniard can easily slot into the ‘No.10’ role as he bags a wealth of creativity, leaving the likes of Jack Wilshere to feature in the side in the process.

Despite the emergence of Francis Coquelin, Arsenal are craving a bit more tenacity in midfield, and Vidal is viewed by many around Europe as one of the most tenacious and tireless midfielders out there. Although the Chilean isn’t a defensive midfielder, he would be a world-class addition to the squad this summer, no questions asked.

Juve reportedly want £32 million for Vidal and the Italian side are preparing a £29 million bid for Ozil – can, or rather, should Arsenal consider a swap deal plus perhaps a minimal fee?

It is a tough one as I do admire Ozil’s ability and believe he has more to give to Arsenal, while I view Vidal as a class act. It basically comes down to this – can we afford to lose the German’s inventiveness in order to gain Vidal’s combativeness? Which one would we need more of to compete for the Premier League title this season?

What are you smoking mate. There is no way I would swap the two. I would swap Ramsey for vidal yes. Ramsey was way of par and too selfish of a football player on the feild. So Özil stays if it was up too me

Considering it is said that AW plans to let Özil play in he middle, where he likes to be, it will be very interesting to see what will happen then. I could be nice to have a player like Vidal in our club, but NOT to the price of letting Özil go. I hope he will stay and be fit.
