Arsenal can land Ajax playmaker Davy Klaassen for just £6 million, according to reports in Holland.
The 22-year-old Dutchman has been impressive for Ajax since becoming a regular in the past couple of seasons, scoring 20 goals and contributing 13 assists in a total of 84 appearances for Frank de Boer’s side.
It is believed several clubs from around Europe, including Manchester United, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund (as well as Arsenal), are all interested in Ajax’s new captain.
But Dutch newspaper Voetbal International, as reported by the Daily Express, claims Klaassen can leave Ajax for as little as £6 million this summer.
Klaassen still has three-years left to run on his existing deal at the Amsterdam Arena. But earlier in the year, de Boer stated he stands little chance of keeping hold of his prized asset, if he continues to develop at a rapid rate.
Arsenal are believed to be in the market to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season. But I don’t think another midfield playmaker is on the agenda.
In any case, if Arsenal are interested in Klaassen then they can land him for £6 million and would be viewed as a bargain buy, although Dortmund are believed to be frontrunners for the Holland international’s signature.
20 goals & 13 assits seems to be a good number for a player priced £6 million.
So, it should be a good buy.
