David Ospina has confirmed the rumours linking him with a move to Fenerbahce by admitting his agent is in talks with the Turkish club.
Last week, reports emerged that Ospina, who only moved to Arsenal last summer from Nice for £3.5 million, had agreed a £4 million move to Fenerbahce after learning the swoop for Petr Cech is close to being completed
And although Ospina’s move to Fenerbahce hasn’t been made official, it could well become a reality after the 26-year-old has revealed he could leave the Emirates this summer.
Quoted in the Turkish newspaper Sabah Daily, Ospina said:
‘They [Fenerbahce] are dealing with my agent.
‘At the moment the only thoughts I have are for Colombia I will not betray my team.’
The Colombian shot-stopper became Arsene Wenger’s first-choice goalkeeper at the start of the year following Wojciech Szczesny’s smoking incident in the shower after the loss to Southampton.
Ospina only managed to make 20 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners since joining from Nice last summer, and with Cech reportedly signed, this move to Fenerbahce makes sense for the Colombian and Arsenal.
I would love to see Ospina stay at Arsenal. He is better than Schezney.
