Real Madrid sets sights on Arsenal star

|

Laurent KoscielnyRafa Benitez wants to make Laurent Koscielny his first signing for Real Madrid this summer, according to reports in France.

The Spaniard departed his post as Napoli boss to become the new manager of the European champions, replacing Carlo Ancelotti.

And Benitez is eyeing up a defensive signing rather than an attacking one, this coming in the form of Koscielny, reports France Football.

The French centre-back has arguably become Arsenal’s most accomplished defender in recent seasons and his fine form has been noticed by the likes of Bayern Munich in the past.

Arsene Wenger has no plans to let Koscielny leave anytime soon and is expected to reject any approaches from the Galacticos for his services this summer. However, a move to the world’s most prestigious club and the chance to play with some of the best players on the planet may well tempt the 29-year-old.

Whoever Real want, they usually get – hopefully, this isn’t the case with Koscielny as he would potentially be a massive loss to our club.
