Jackson MartinezJackson Martinez is set to complete a move to a new club ‘within days’, according to his agent. Might that club be Arsenal?

The 28-year-old Colombian forward has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in recent week, with some reports suggesting he’s already agreed terms with the Gunners.

However, neither Porto nor Arsenal have confirmed anything about this potential transfer, but Martinez’s agent, Henrique Pompeo, says there is a club willing to match the player’s release clause and sign him in the next few days:

‘There is a club that’s willing to pay €35m for the buy-out clause.

‘The deal will be closed in the next few days.’

If reports are to be believed, Arsenal have met Martinez’s £24.7 million release clause, and Pompeo has added fuel to the fire after admitting a club is ready to sign the Colombian international.

Martinez has previously stated he would like to one day play for Arsenal, and the Gunners are said to be in the market this summer for a new forward to compliment and challenge Olivier Giroud next season.

It may turn out not to be Arsenal who are set to sign Martinez course, but it gives us hope that it might be us.

Great news fingers crossed Jackson is far much better than Giroudarsenal desperately need a goal poacher and I think Jackson can.our legend Henry was very right to say arsenal can’t win the league with Giroud as lead striker he is slow in thinking and pace.
