Bad news Gooners and Goonerettes, Arturo Vidal’s agent has confirmed that he has ‘never had any contact with Arsenal’ amid reports that a £21 million deal had been agreed with Juventus.
Earlier this week reports in Chile had suggested Vidal was on his way to Arsenal once the completion of the Copa America after Juventus agreed to offload him for £21 million.
The news of his potential arrival this summer spread like wildfire and got the Emirates faithful buzzing over seeing one of the most dynamic midfielders in the world join the Gunners.
However, Vidal’s representative, Fernando Felicevich poured cold water on the rumour, insisting he hasn’t even heard from Arsenal:
‘I have never had any contact with Arsenal about Arturo.’
It is a bit of a downer hearing this, but this is not to say Arsenal won’t make contact with Vidal and his agent sometime during the transfer window.
Arsene Wenger is looking to strengthen his side ahead of next season and has started with the signing of Petr Cech, and hopefully we see a few more new faces come in in the upcoming weeks, including Vidal.
