Lukas Podolski is on his way to Galatasaray after reports in Turkey claim they have signed the German international from Arsenal for £1.4 million.
The 30-year-old has been told by Arsene Wenger that he doesn’t feature in his first-team plans next season and Podolski himself recently said he’s not willing to sit another term on the bench at Arsenal.
This has led to speculation over Podolski’s future, with the German being linked with a move away from the Emirates, and it seems the Gunners and Galatasaray have struck a deal
Turkish newspaper Aksam suggests Gala will pay a mere £1.4 million for the left-footed forward and personal terms with the player have also been agreed, with the move to go through on July 1st.
Podolski only had one-year left on his current deal at the Emirates, and rather than risk losing him on a free, Arsenal were right to offload him – even if it was only for £1.4 million.
If these reports are accurate, then I wish Podolski the very best in Turkey.
