Paul Merson has called on Arsene Wenger to SELL Theo Walcott and enter the race to land Gareth Bale this summer.
Bale has struggled to fit into Real Madrid and become a target of the Bernabeu boo-boys. It is believed he is considering a move back to the Premier League, with Chelsea and Manchester United both being linked with the 25-year-old.
And Merson believes the Gunners should also be in the mix for the former Spurs winger this summer.
With only one-year left on his existing contract at the Emirates, Walcott’s future at Arsenal looks in doubt and has been linked with a move to Liverpool in previous weeks as a possible replacement for Raheem Sterling.
Many have a view on what Arsene Wenger should do with Walcott this summer, but Merson reckons the Frenchman should offload the England international and use the cash generated to make a bid for Bale:
‘I think he would fit any club in the world.
‘Why not Arsenal?
‘You’re getting rid of Theo Walcott, you’ve got a load of money.’
I would love to see this happen, but there’s a very slim chance of it actually occurring.
Its gonna be a waste of time, likes of chamberline,Welbeck and Ozil is fantastic.
