Do you remember Lukas Podolski? The German World Cup winner who currently plays for Inter Milan on loan? Well reports suggests he is a target for Newcastle this summer.

The forward with the rocket left foot is expected to return to Arsenal at the end of the season after enduring a fruitless loan stint at Inter.

However, Podolski will return to the Emirates with his future still in doubt, but many suggest he will be sold by the club as he has become surplus to requirements.

Arsene Wenger has made it painfully obvious to Podolski that he does not feature in his first-team plans by not making him a regular when he was at the Emirates at the beginning of the season. And the Frenchman’s decision to loan him out to Inter over January was seen by many as the final nail in his coffin at Arsenal.

A number of clubs have expressed an interest in the German and Newcastle are appear to be the latest linked with the 29-year-old.

Arsenal reportedly want around £10million for Podolski but know it will be difficult to get that given his huge £100,000-a-week salary.

Personally, I don’t believe Podolski will be in Wenger’s plans next season as the Frenchman looks to strengthen his side this summer and will move the forward on, should the fee reflect his valuation of the player of course.
