Gunners to turn to this man should Cech deal fail

|

Kasper SchmeichelArsenal will turn to Leicester City’s Kasper Schmeichel, if they fail to land Petr Cech from Chelsea this summer, according to the Telegraph.

The Gunners have had a number of goalkeepers linked with a move to the Emirates this summer, but none more so than Cech.

Cech is considering his future at Stamford Bridge after falling behind Thibaut Courtois in the pecking order this season and with only one-year left to run on his current deal, Arsenal have homed in on the experienced shot-stopper with a £10 million offer being touted by the press..

However, Chelsea will be reluctant to sell to one of their rivals, leaving Arsene Wenger to consider other options should the deal not materialized and is believed to be pondering a move for Schmeichel.

The 28-year-old has impressed for Leicester this season and is also being reportedly tracked by Liverpool and other Premier League clubs.

Schmeichel is believed to be happy at the King Power Stadium and newly signed a new deal to remain at the club until 2018. But the Dane could well be interested in a move to a side that offers Champions League football this summer, and Arsenal are prepared to test the water should Cech not sign for Wenger’s side.

Would Kapser make a good addition to the Arsenal squad? Is he the goalkeeper we need?
