Arsenal are ready to launch an enquiry over the availability of Petr Cech, according to reports.
The 32-year-old goalkeeper has only one-year left to run on his existing contract and has had to play second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois this season. Cech is understood to be considering his future and unwilling to play another season as second-choice as a result.
The Czech international is being tipped with a move away from Stamford Bride this summer, with Arsenal reportedly keen on his services.
Despite signing David Ospina from Nice last summer, Arsene Wenger is pondering whether or not to bring in an experienced shot-stopper next season, with Cech being the ideal man in many Arsenal fans’ eyes.
Chelsea will be extremely reluctant to let Cech join Arsenal this summer. But with only one-year left to run on his current deal, the soon-to-be Premier League champions run the risk of losing him on a free next summer if they decide to keep him on the books this one.
If Cech wants to leave then I believe Chelsea will sell – to Arsenal is another matter, but anything is possible in football.
