Keylor NavasI’ve read in the Sunday Mirror today that Liverpool are planning a move for Real Madrid keeper Keylor Navas – why am I interested in this particular story, you ask? Well, Arsenal are supposedly keen on adding a new shot-stopper this summer, and perhaps Arsene Wenger should consider the Costa Rica international as a possible addition.

Navas, 28, looks set to leave the Bernabeu this summer after just six appearances as he has struggled to give Iker Casillas competition this season, and if that wasn’t bad enough, his future has become a whole lot bleaker as Real are on the verge of bringing in David De Gea from Manchester United.

Navas has said he will consider his options this summer and although he still has five-years left to run on his existing deal, the Costa Rican can be signed if his £10.5 million release clause is met.

Reports claim interest is growing in Navas, with Liverpool and several teams in Italy keen on his services.

So knowing Arsenal are reportedly keen to add a new goalkeeper to the squad this summer, should Navas be on Wenger’s list?

Needless to say, Navas was outstanding during last summer’s World Cup – his performances earned him a move to Real. But unfortunately it was a big ask to dislodge the legendary Casillas from his post.

I believe a £10.5 million swoop for Navas should be considered by Wenger, especially if a move for Petr Cech fails.

Here is a video of the man in action for Real:
