Gonzalo Higuain (Argentina):Arsenal are reportedly ready to open talks with Napoli over a deal to sign Gonzalo Higuain.

The Argentine forward came close to joining the Gunners in 2013 but opted to sign for the Serie A side.

However, it is now thought the 27-year-old, who still has three-years left to run on his existing deal, is ready to quit Napoli at the end of the season if they fail to qualify for the Champions League next term, according to the Metro.

Arsenal are understood to be interested again in the striker, with Arsene Wenger ready to open talks early in hope of reaching a deal this summer.

Wenger is highly likely to bring in a new frontman to offer Olivier Giroud competition in the centre-forward role and sees Higuain as an ideal candidate.

£28.9 million is the figure that Arsenal hope to land the Argentina international.

Although other areas of the squad will need improving this summer, bringing in a new forward wouldn’t go amiss.

In my opinion, Higuain would be a great signing as he is a proven striker with plenty of Champions League experience under his belt.

21 goals in 32 total appearances so far for Napoli isn’t a bad return and the potential link up with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil sounds superb.
