Right man, wrong time

Jurgen KloppJurgen Klopp has recently stated he is quitting Borussia Dortmund this summer, which has deservedly alerted a horde of top European clubs.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, PSG, Milan, Napoli, Liverpool, Manchester City and even Arsenal are but a few clubs linked with the charismatic and eccentric German, who is one of the most dynamic managers in world football today.

Klopp has previously expressed his interest in a move to the Premier League and because of Manuel Pellegrini’s demise at City, the Etihad Stadium looks the most probable destination for the Dortmund manager.

But with the Emirates faithful split on Wenger’s leadership over the past 10 years or so, would Klopp be the right man to succeed the Frenchman? In word. Yes.

However, Wenger still has two years left to run on his existing deal and because of his past achievements and all he has done for the club since his arrival in 1996, the Frenchman has the key to the Emirates – only he will be the one to decide when to walk out and hand over them to the hierarchy. Whether you like it or not, this is fact, and for this reason, Klopp will not be in charge next season as Arsenal.

Despite some big signings over the past two seasons and an FA Cup triumph in the previous campaign, a number of fans do want change, and Klopp is highly thought of by the Emirates faithful, with many of them claiming he is the one that should succeed Wenger. But as stated in the last paragraph, Wenger will NEVER be sacked and will leave on his own accord.

Arsenal football club have a huge dilemma on their hands. Do they stick with Wenger, the man who revolutionised the club and put them in a financially stable condition, but has also failed to take them to the next level, or bring in one of football’s most vibrant and tactical managers and make a fresh start and bring change? If the Gunners don’t decide to take Klopp now then they will have to wait some time or perhaps may never get to do so.

Had Klopp announced his departure from Dortmund two years from now then I’m almost certain Arsenal would have brought him in to succeed Wenger, who would have seen out his contract. Unfortunately, the timing is all wrong.

Klopp may be seen at the Emirates next season, but in the opposition dugout.

A bird at hand worth more than thousands in the bush. I believe that Wenger has performed greatly at Arsenal, he should be respected and not disgraced. I doubt if Klopp could match what he ha done. We may need to wait and see the performance of Klopp if allowed by another club in the premier league to coach. I believe that Wenger is in the best form right now, let Prof. continues to shine.
