DestroMattia Destro has and continues to be linked with a move to Arsenal.

The 24-year-old is currently on loan at AC Milan and with his deal at parent club Roma set to expire this summer, the Italian forward is reportedly looking for a new club.

His agent, Renzo Contratto has renewed speculation over his client’s future by suggesting a transfer away from the Stadio Olimpico could be on the horizon.

It’s also been reported Contratto is in talks with the Gunners over a potential transfer at the end of the season.

Destro made 16 appearances (eight as a starter) and netted five goals for Roma before joining Milan in late-January, where he has scored two goals in eight outings for Phillipo Inzaghi’s side.

Despite having Theo Walcott, Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck on the books at the Emirates, some Arsenal fans want to see Arsene Wenger splash out on a prolific striker this summer – and Destro isn’t that.

If Wenger is indeed interested in the Italian then he needs to think again, and hard.

Having seen Destro a few times this season, he hasn’t impressed me. He is a fairly average striker at best and I don’t think he would enhance our attack. In my opinion, all our current forwards are better than the Roma man, and I don’t think a move for him – even if it is a free one – would be worthwhile.

We need a 30-goal striker to join the club. Yes this is hard to find, but Destro is nowhere near this and should be avoided this summer.
