Petr CechCarlo Cudicini believes Petr Cech should be on Arsenal’s radar, if the Czech goalkeeper decides to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

The 32-year-old is highly likely to leave Chelsea at the end of the season having played second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois.

Arsenal are believed to be considering bringing in a new shot-stopper this summer after Arsene Wenger lost patience with Wojciech Szczesny over his off-field antics at the start of the year, and Cech has been linked with a move to the Emirates.

Cech himself admitted he may have to leave Chelsea in order to play regular first-team football and Arsenal is a possible destination,

After hearing of Cech’s possible departure and link to Arsenal, Cudicini reckons his former team-mate would be an ideal signing for the Gunners.

Responding to Ray Parlour’s claim on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT that Arsenal ‘have to get’ Cech if he is available, Cudicini said:

‘I agree.

‘Arsenal have had a few problems with goalkeepers after [David] Seaman and [Jens] Lehmann. [Wojciech] Szczesny is still struggling to impose himself as number one, so if a goalkeeper like Petr Cech is available in the summer, obviously he should be a big target for Arsenal.’

Cech only has one-year left to run on his existing contract after the current season ends and should he become available then Arsenal have to attempt to sign him.
