Should Wenger hand him his opportunity?

theo walcottArsene Wenger has confirmed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will miss up to four weeks with a hamstring injury.

The 21-year-old midfielder, who has started five of the last six games for the Gunners, suffered the injury during Arsenal’s 2-1 FA Cup victory against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday night.

But with the England international out for up to at least a month, those on the bench now have a huge opportunity to impress Wenger, none more so than Theo Walcott.

The soon-to-be 26 year-old forward has not started for Arsenal since their 2-1 win over Leicester City in early February and has only managed to play 130 minutes of football to date and also been an unused sub in the past three games.

So with Chamberlain now out of the picture until mid-April or so, is this the time Wenger gives Theo his chance in the side?

There are several options for the Frenchman to consider other than Walcott in the wide position, like Tomas Rosicky and Danny Welbeck even, but the England international is fully fit and should be raring to go.

We have West Ham at the Emirates tomorrow afternoon and I think this would be a good game for Walcott to start and show Wenger why he should be starting for us.

i think Walcott will start at the weekend and perhaps we might need him breaking down the Hamers.
