Arsenal 3-0 West Ham – my player ratings

|

GiroudHere are my Arsenal player ratings from today’s 3-0 home win over West Ham:

David Ospina – Was indecisive at times but was really called into action. Kept another clean sheet. 6.5/10

Calum Chambers – Got forward well and delivered some decent balls into the box but lacked defensive discipline and was caught out due to poor positioning. 5.5/10

Per Mertesacker – Did ok but poor positioning could have led to something costly if not for Koscielny covering the German. 6/10

Laurent Koscielny – Made some good tackles and interceptions throughout and bailed out Per on a few occasions. 7/10

Nacho Monreal – Got forward well and offered the overlap at times, but the Spaniard, at times, struggled with West Ham’s wingers. 6/10

Francis Coquelin – The Frenchman is getting better every time I see him. Protected the back four well and wasn’t afraid to get stuck in. 6.5/10

Aaron Ramsey – A good performance from the returning Welshman. Was involved in many of Arsenal’s attacks and was more of a team player today. Got on the scoresheet after a lovely one-two with Giroud. Man of the Match for me. 7.5/10

Mesut Ozil – His passing was on point in the second half but lacked accuracy in the second 45. Movement off and on the ball was impressive and always looked to create something for his team-mates. 7/10

Alexis Sanchez – Had a few efforts on goal, notably his header and volley in the first-half but the Chilean went quiet in the second half and lasted only 65 minutes before being replaced. 6.5/10

Theo Walcott – Should have got on the scoresheet with the chances he had but failed to do so. Made some great runs off the ball but disappeared as the game wore on. 6/10

Olivier Giroud – Scored a beaut just before the interval but saw less of the ball in the second half. 6.5/10

SUBS:

Danny Welbeck – Came on for Sanchez with 25 minutes to go and caused real problems with his pace. Was involved in Arsenal’s third. 6/10

Santi Cazorla – Replaced Theo in the 71st minute and was eager to get on the ball which he did. Sprayed some lovely balls about and got an assist. 6.5/10

Mathieu Flamini – Saw the last 10 minutes of the match after replacing Ozil and scored Arsenal’s third with his first touch. 6.5/10
