Is the title ‘out of reach’ for Arsenal?

Arsene WengerSol Campbell believes the Premier League title is ‘out of reach’ this season for Arsenal.

The Gunners have been in impressive form since their 2-0 loss to Southampton on New Year’s Day, winning their last four matches, scoring 10 and conceding just two.

Arsenal’s latest Premier League win came against Manchester City at the Etihad last week which sparked talk of Arsene Wenger’s men possibly chasing down leaders Chelsea.

Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey and recently Wenger have all talked up Arsenal’s chances of winning the title, but despite renewed optimism at the Emirates, former Gunner Campbell, who was part of the ‘Invincible’ side 11 years ago, says Arsenal’s best hope of silverware this season remains the FA Cup, with the ex-England international suggesting a title push is a step too far:

‘They have hit some form recently and can maybe win the FA Cup again.

‘But, as far as I am concerned, the title is out of reach.’

Arsenal host Aston Villa this afternoon and a win will see them climb to fifth, 11 points behind Chelsea who drew 1-1 with Manchester City yesterday. After today’s game, we would have played 23 Premier League games, leaving us with 15 still to go – that’s 45 points still to play for.

We do have one of the best squads in the Premier League but I believe we will fall short of winning the title – we had a poor start which will cost us again. I do, however, think second place is up for grabs, should we win today. Six points would separate us from City and if we continue our form and results go our way then runners-up position could be ours. It doesn’t reward us with a trophy, but ending the season second in the Premier League and winning the FA Cup would be seen as progression, and I think fans would be happy with this.

If only the team can maintain there current form, I’m convinced that we will not only win the FA cup ,but the EPL . More so when Chelsea have started dropping points.

if only the team will be consistent in their current form, I’m not only convinced that we will lift the FA cup again, but the EPL as well.
