Why a loan move away isn’t the answer

Wojciech SzczesnyFormer Poland international Jan Tomaszewski believes Wojciech Szczesny won’t play another game for Arsenal this season and reckons the shot-stopper should seek a loan move away from the Emirates this month.

Szcezsny’s last game for Arsenal came against the 2-0 defeat to Southampton on New Year’s Day, but the Poland international was dropped to the bench and fined after being caught smoking in the showers after the match.

David Ospina was brought into the side as a result of Szczesny’s mishaps off the field, and the Mexican has managed to keep three clean sheets in a row and looks set to continue to guard the net for the foreseeable future.

Tomaszewski now thinks Szczesny should seriously consider his future at the Emirates and believes a loan move away this month would be ideal for his fellow countryman:

‘It seems to me that Adam Nawalka (Poland’s national team coach) should go to London to find [him] a way out of the situation, because from what I know, Wojciech will not play again until the end of the competition.

‘Wojciech should look for a loan. He won’t lose anything, he will continue to be bound by a contract with Arsenal, but will be able to count on regular game time.’

So, should Szczesny take Tomaszewski’s advice and consider a loan move away from Arsenal before the transfer window shuts?

Szczesny has done wrong, and he knows it. Wenger took the right action and dropped him from the starting line-up. Every player will experience this one time or another during their career and unfortunately for Szczesny’s it’s his turn, but it was brought on by his stupidity and despite what Wenger says, the Frenchman took this into consideration when he decided to bench the Pole.

I don’t think Szczesny should seek a loan move though. This is the time to show some character and professionalism, and prove to Wenger he deserves to be back in the side. This has, however, been made more difficult to achieve by Ospina’s recent displays. But Szczesny has the ability and confidence to reclaim his starting berth.

I believe we will see him in the side before the season comes to an end, but he has to remain patient and wait for his chance to arise.

Wait patiently like Podolski, or Arshavin or Campbell or so many others, who didn’t get their chances again and remained benched for years, because they had “fallen from grace”? Com’ on…

How can you take a report seriously when a simple fact something so simple like typing a name into google could solve. Ospina a Mexican. Not sure if the writer has ever watched the world cup further more arsenal.
