PodolskiSo Lukas Podolski looks set to complete a six-month loan deal to Inter Milan after being frozen out at Arsenal – sad times if you are a fan of the German

The 29-year-old failed to feature in Arsene Wenger’s plans this season following the arrivals of Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck over the summer and has decided to join Inter on a half-a-season loan with a view to a permanent deal.

Despite becoming a fan favourite at the Emirates and enjoying life in London, the German international revealed he is looking forward to working under Roberto Mancini and featuring reglalry for the Serie A club:

‘I am very happy [to be joining Inter].

‘I expect so much from this adventure. I know the Italian league very well. We are aiming to qualify for the Champions League and to win in the Europa League.’

The forward finished off by saying:

‘I have spoken with Mancini, I think he is a great coach.’

It is thought that Arsenal will receive around £1.5 million in loan fees and with only a year left to run on his contract, Podolski could well seal a permanent move to Inter if he impresses Mancini. And if his latest statement on his Instagram account is anything to go by, it seems he has conceded that his time is finally up at Arsenal.

Despite Podolski’s imminent departure, Arsene Wenger still has four strikers to call upon from now until the end of the season, but should the Frenchman look to add another this January to replace the German?

1 really, 2 perhaps. The others are a perennial onlooker & the other a right prima Donna who lacks any sense of accountability or respect or descipline, all qualities that Wenger seems to appreciate

Be honest he won’t – started to think Wenger had just lost his way, am reluctantly being slowly converted to the idea that he is actually deliberately attempting to wreck Arsenal football team.
