Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud claims Yaya Sanogo has asked to join the Ligue 1 outfit on loan this month.
There has been much speculation over the future of the 21-year-old at Arsenal after the club brought in Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck over the summer, and although Arsene Wenger doesn’t mind seeing the young forward go out on loan to gain more first-team experience and game time, the Frenchman would much prefer him join a Premier League club.
But it is suggested by Triaud that Sanogo, who has scored one goal in 19 outings in his Arsenal career so far, wants to join Bordeaux this month:
‘Sanogo wants to come to Bordeaux on loan, and he has informed Arsene Wenger [about his wish].
‘We’ve asked for Arsenal to give us a response on Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest.’
Many of the Emirates faithful doubt Sanogo has what it takes to succeed at Arsenal, but Wenger clearly has faith in his ability as he has preferred him over the likes of Lukas Podolski and, at times, Olivier Giroud.
Wenger should send him out on loan this month and assess the player when he returns in the summer.
