PREVIOUS MEETING

September 13, 2014 (Premier League)

Arsenal 2 – 2 Manchester City (Wilshere 64, Sanchez 74) (Aguero 28, Demichelis 84)

The Gunners dominated the early exchanges, with Danny Welbeck coming closest to opening the scoring after his chip shot came off the post.

However, for all their possession, Arsenal just couldn’t find the back of the net and it was City, thanks to Sergio Aguero, who took the lead.

Arsenal upped the tempo in the second-half and were rewarded for their efforts just after the hour mark after Jack Wilshere dinked home from an acute angle. Alexis Sanchez then made it 2-1 after rifling home a superb volley and looked to have put the game beyond City’s reach.

But six minutes from time, City got the leveller after some poor marking from a corner which Martin Demichelis converted with a bullet header.

City came close to nicking it at the death but for Edin Dzeko not having his shooting boots on.
