Is this an unrepairable working relationship?

Lukas PodolskiLukas Podolski joined inter on loan for the remainder of the season after struggling to get games at Arsenal.

Now, while we may see him back at the Emirates in the summer, I highly doubt his situation at the club will change, and it seems he’s not happy with Wenger following his latest comments about the Frenchman.

Although the 29-year-old was a hit with the Arsenal faithful and amongst his fellow peers, for some reason he wasn’t with Wenger, who Podolski accused the Frenchman of not showing him respect.

According The Sun, Wenger did not even say goodbye to the German before he left for Italy:

‘He said nothing to me. He did not call me or say goodbye.

‘I don’t need flowers or a kiss from him but it is about respect, about saying goodbye. For me respect is important.

‘I did everything for the club I possibly could have. I don’t believe I did anything wrong. I did not get drunk in a club.’

And it seems Podolski has conceded that he will not be coming back after thanking the fans and the club for having ‘a great time at Arsenal’:

‘I had a great time at Arsenal, I want to thank the fans and the club.’

It’s a very strange situation between the two, with one saying one thing and the other saying something else.

For me, bridges seem to be burning, and although Wenger has since denied Podolksi’s claims and says the German will be back after his loan spell expires, the working relationship between them looks unrepairable at the moment.
