Arsene Wenger has already managed to sign defensive midfielder Krystian Bielik and are on the verge of bringing in defender Gabriel Paulista from Villarreal, but the Gunners are still being linked with late moves.
The latest name to be touted with a move to the Emirates is Valencia right-back Joao Pereira. Italian publication Tuttomercato claims Wenger is keen on the 30-year-old who is yet feature for Valencia this season.
Mathieu Debuchy has been ruled out for three months after dislocating his should against Stoke just over a fortnight ago and Wenger appears interested to add experience to the right-back position, with Calum Chambers and Hector Bellerin both still lacking in this department, and is eyeing up a late move for Pereira.
Pereira’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and Valencia could look to sell the Portugal international before the January transfer window shut, rather than lose him on a free, meaning Arsenal can land him for a cut-price fee.
Earlier this season Valencia’s sporting director, Francisco Rufete, said Pereira has no future at the club.
The Portuguese full-back would be regarded as a decent signing, but nothing special. I don’t think he’s a better option than Chambers or Bellerin at right-back, thus he would struggle to obtain a starting place in the side, but his experience would be beneficial. Useful signing but nothing more.
Why is it that people have forgotten Carl Jenkinson he is on loan and could be recalled if we had an injury to Cambers or Bellerin and has been playing well

listen you haven’t got a f in clue.. jenkinson will never be half the player bellerin will be. Jenk can’t cross can’t dribble, hasn’t got a football brain. Where bellerin has all them attributes. Chambers will be a class centre back not a right back.. Jenko will be gone at end of season.. Plus he had a clause in his loan contract to not be recalled, coz wenger knows bellerin is 10 times better than jenk. We will never buy this perrirea, if anything will get a left back Gaya as gibbs injury plus he and monreal aint worldys and never will be. Gaya better than both already at age of 19

used to go and watch arsenal u21s, it was clear to see to everyone that gnarby and hector were the only 2 that were gonna come through to play for the first time.. its a blessing debuchys injured again, bellerin will be one of the best right backs in the world. and unfortunately will go back to barca
