Yaya SanogoArsenal are set to let Yaya Sanogo go out on loan when the January transfer window opens, according to reports.

The 21-year-old joined the Gunners as a free agent last summer after his contract expires at Auxerre.

The France Under-21 international has found the back of the net just the one time in the 19 appearances he has made in all competitions so far and as a result, Arsene Wenger is weighing up a loan move for the forward to get more game time and confidence.

It is believed Wenger wants to send Sanogo out on loan to another Premier League club rather than abroad as it would benefit the player in the long run.

Sanogo’s last Premier League start was in the 1-1 draw against Leicester City at the end of August. Since then he has managed to play just 169 minutes out of a possible 810 and his chances have been further limited by the return to fitness of Olivier Giroud, while Wenger also considers Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez ahead of the French striker.

Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa are all said to be interested in signing Sanogo on a temporary deal this January.

Sanogo is not going to be used as much as he was in the past, especially now that Giroud is back in the frame.

If Sanogo wants to get game time under his belt then his best option is to go out on loan, and if the opportunity arises this January the Frenchman should take it as it would, hopefully, benefit him in the long-term.
