Should Arsenal entertain any offers for this bright prospect?

Hector BellerinBayer Leverkusen are interested in signing Hector Bellerin.

Reports yesterday suggested that the Bundesliga outfit are keen on the 19-year-old, who made the breakthrough at the Emirates this season after Mathieu Debuchy picked up a lengthy injury at the start of the campaign.

The Spanish right-back has made seven appearances in all competitions so far this season for Arsene Wenger’s side and has made a very good impression on the Frenchman as well as the Emirates faithful.

Bellerin, who joined Arsenal from Barcelona in 2011, is viewed as a prospect for the future by many, but Per Mertesacker believes the youngster has a good chance of establishing a regular spot in Wenger’s starting XI:

‘It’s tough to establish yourself as a young player at Arsenal as a lot of the positions have two players in, so it’s hard for the youngsters to impress in regular games.’

The German goes onto say:

‘He listens a lot and he’s a good guy, which gives him a good chance to be a regular pro at Arsenal.’

His rise to prominence however comes at a price and that’s fending off interested clubs, in this case, Leverkusen.

The Bundesliga club are keen on Bellerin as they believe they can mould the Spaniard, who made eight appearances for Watford last season on loan, into the similar fashion as former defender Dani Carvajal.

A permanent deal doesn’t look likely as Wenger wants to keep Bellerin, who is contracted to Arsenal until 2016, but perhaps a loan move to Leverkusen would do wonders for the Spaniard as Debuchy is back in action.
