Wojciech Szczesny – Made some very good saves throughout and could do nothing about both goals we conceded. 7/10

Calum Chambers – Struggled with the pace and movement of Raheem Sterling and was restricted because of the threat of the Liverpool winger. 5/10

Mathieu Debuchy – The makeshift centre-back had a decent game in the heart of Arsenal’s defence. Coped well with Liverpool’s forwards and managed to get on the scoresheet as well. 6/10

Per Mertesacker – Was a threat in aerial duels and was positioned well throughout most of the game. Had to concentrate and be vocal at the back which he did. 6/10

Kieran Gibbs – Got forward well and offered the overlap, but was at fault for Liverpool’s second as he should have been covering the near post. 5/10

Mathieu Flamini – Got stuck in and got booked early on. Was a commanding figure in the middle of the park and set-up Debuchy’s goal. 6/10

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – Really struggled to get into the game and wasn’t precise enough with his passing. Didn’t look fit and was substituted 10 minutes from the end. 4/10

Santi Cazorla – Like all our other midfielders, the Spaniard’s passing was off and weren’t energetic enough, albeit setting up Arsenal’s second goal. 5/10

Danny Welbeck – At times I forgot he was on the pitch he was that anonymous in the game. Didn’t get into the game at all. 4/10

Alexis Sanchez – Just Like Welbeck, the Chilean had a very subdued performance from previous ones. Won the free-kick that lead to the goal but never posed a threat to Liverpool’s defence. 4/10

Olivier Giroud – Caused all sorts of troubles to Liverpool’s back-line and defended when he had to – apart from when he attempted to pass to a team-mate rather than just hoofing it up the field which led to Liverpool’s first goal of the game. Scored his fifth Premier League goal of the season. 7/10

SUBS:

Francis Coquelin – Came on for The Ox with 10 minutes to go and got stuck in. did well to win the ball back and showed some desire in midfield. 5/10

Joel Campbell – Replaced Giroud in the 90th minute. Don’t think he touched the ball. N/A

Nacho Monreal – Came on for Sanchez in the 94th minute and had a great opportunity to deliver a decent ball into the box which could have led to a goal, but his pass/cross went straight into Brad Jones’ hands. N/A

Bonaroca: Were was Gibbs, he should have been defending on the goal line, if he was there he
could have kicked the ball out aand gained Arsenal three points not one.
