Arsenal are preparing a move for Lyon midfield starlet Nabil Fekir after sending scouts to watch the 21-year-old.
Fekir has been in impressive form for the Ligue 1 outfit this season, netting six times in 14 appearances so far, and has been attracting the attentions of several clubs from around Europe in recent weeks.
And his creativity in midfielder and assists have not gone unnoticed by Arsenal who are said to be considering a bid for the French-Algerian after successful reports back to Arsene Wenger.
Upon hearing of the Gunners’ interest, Fekir told French publication Telefoot, as reported by several sources:
‘Arsenal? It’s a pleasure to know that clubs are interested. But for now I’m well at OL.
‘I’m an ambitious person. I hope I’ll get to play in a big club one day, it’s a dream. I hope I’ll be able to realise it someday.’
Although only aged 21, Fekir, is now considered to be a regular at the Stade de Gerland after breaking into the first-team last season.
However, despite being happy at Lyon for the time being, the lure of Arsenal may prove difficult to resist as Fekir will know it is one of the best clubs in the world over the years for nurturing young talent into world beaters over the years.
Fekir still has four-and-a-half years left to run on his existing deal at Lyon, but it will be interesting to see if the French club entertain any bid from the Gunners should they make one in the near future.
