Joao MoutinhoArsenal are in with a shout of signing Portugal international Joao Moutinho with super agent Jorge Mendes now actively working to get him out of Monaco, according to the Daily Express.

The 28-year-old is said to be unhappy at the Ligue 1 club after seeing the management sell Radamel Falcao and James Rodriguez to Manchester United and Real Madrid respectively over the summer.

It is believed that Moutinho’s future at Monaco will be determined on whether they progress into the final 16 of the Champions League tonight, and if they fail to do so then the French club will listen to offers of around £30 million for the Portuguese midfielder.

Reports suggest that Mendes is on the case and has already held talks with both Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho over a possible move, although a move to United has also been touted.

Although it would be great to see Moutinho at the Emirates, I cannot see Wenger splashing out £30 million on him – besides, it’s not the type of player we really need on board at this time, unless the Frenchman decides to replace him with someone.
