Arsenal crashed to an embarrassing defeat to Stoke yesterday and all Arsene Wenger did after the game was spout out the same old ‘excuses’ on why the Gunners dropped all three points – because of their naivety in the back.
With three wins and three clean sheets in all competitions after they’re 2-1 loss to United in late-November, Arsenal went into the Stoke game with much hope. But they were 3-0 down before the interval, with Peter Crouch netting the first within 20 seconds!
Arsenal managed to make it a respectable loss at least by clawing their way back to 3-2, but they couldn’t manage to bag any points and record yet another loss to the Rugby team.
And after the game Wenger had this to say on the result and his team’s display:
‘Stoke started strongly and we were not determined enough in the challenges, and from then on we gave them an early present.
‘After that we put a lot of energy into the game, but in the second half we needed too much to come back and we couldn’t do it.
‘You have to give Stoke credit for their start, but I think we were a bit naïve at the back. We could not play Koscielny and Monreal, and with Debuchy out as well we were always too soft to cope with what they offered us.’
How many times are we going to hear that we were soft at the back? We’ve known this for the past 10 years now! Yet nothing has been done to resolve the problem.
Our defence has been subject of much talk over the years and despite Wenger ‘strengthen’ it, it doesn’t get any better, season in, season out.
It’s time Wenger finally tightens up the back-line – hopefully in January – because we’re all beginning to grow tired of the Frenchman’s excuses.
Wenger is failing simply because there is a small number of French players in the team compared to yesteryears. He just cant speak french to the current squad so some of his instructions get lost in translation. We will still make top 4, i am very confident of that.
We the fans have tired of this Excuses by Wenger. My problem with him is that, when the transfer window re-open in january, he will only buy one french midfielder and say needless of buying a defensive and central back because maybe the injured players are back and fit. He is an autocratic Manager who doesn’t buy people ideas. Looking at the other rivals clubs, they always seek to their fans and other people ideas to strengthen their teams, but on our own Manager, he will like to price all the players in Europe, haven’t buy anyone quality player. If really we want to challenge for title, Wenger must buy quality players to boost up our beloved team.{Arsenal Fc}.

If Wenger knew how to rectify the mistakes he would probably have done it,fact is Wenger is shoot and cant hack it anymore the last ten years have been one embarrassing train wreck after another and he is clueless,utter,utter clueless and arrogant as well the worst kind of combination.No one in their right mind would start spouting rubbish like 4th place is a trophy or we won the stamina League.
When the window opens defenders are a must and we also need a captin and defensive midfielders. You look at the team we had when we won the league they had Sole and passion if we was 1-0 up we would play for another goal and with style (sexy football) nower days we play catch up or play for a draw. This is not the arsenal team I use to know so wenger if I was the director of the club I would give you to the end of the season to sort it out and take in what the fans are saying to you. If you can’t Handel it then walk and stop driving the club in to the ground. to us fans it feels like you don’t care what we say or what we want it’s time to open you note book and write down what we are saying and take action we have the money to spend now it’s time to spend it before it’s way way way to late this is 10yrs to long NOW SORT IT OUT.
