Jurgen KloppThere has been talk over who should succeed Arsene Wenger when he decides to step down from his position, this despite the Frenchman signing a new three-year deal over the summer.

Carlo Ancelotti’s number two Paul Clement has been tipped as a potential replacement but Ray Parlour believes the club should turn to Jurgen Klopp, with the ex-Arsenal midfielder suggesting the German would give the Emirates outfit a huge boost – and I wholeheartedly agree.

Wenger has once again come under intense criticism following a poor showing in the Premier League with the club’s title challenge all but over by mid-November.

The Frenchman broke the club’s trophy drought last season by winning the FA Cup which brought hope and excited the fans for the new campaign.

However, despite bringing in five new faces, including Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck, Arsenal find themselves are way off the pace in the Premier League and look set to finish second in their Champions League group behind Dortmund, meaning an early exit in Europe’s elite competition looms.

A number of the Emirates faithful want to see Wenger’s reign come to an end, but Parlour doubts the Frenchman will be axed out of the blue.

Instead, the man dubbed ‘the Romford Pele’ thinks Wenger will have input in the appointment of his successor if he retires or takes a place on the boared.

Parlour told the Daily Star Sunday:

‘I’m sure Wenger will have a big say on whoever comes in to manage Arsenal if he retires or goes upstairs.

‘It’s going to be interesting to see what happens. But someone like Klopp, if you could get him, would be fantastic.

‘I know Dortmund are having a poor season in the Bundesliga, but I like the way they play. The way they press is brilliant.’

Klopp would be the ideal candidate to take over from Wenger in my opinion. The German is bursts with passion, implements an effective yet stylish way of football which would suit our current crop at the Emirates and knows talent when he sees it.

Despite Dortmund sitting in 15th position in the Bundesliga, the club’s board know that they have a talented manager on their hands – that’s why he is tied down until 2018.

Although it would be brilliant to see Klopp at Arsenal, Wenger will never be axed by the board and as such will remain in charge of the club until his deal expires – Klopp could have took charge of another side by then.
