Alexis SanchezLast night’s 2-0 win over Dortmund at the Emirates meant we qualified to the Champions League knockout stages and still gives us a glimmer of hope of topping the group if we manage to bag all three points in Turkey against Galatasaray and Anderlecht turn over Jurgen Klopp’s side.

But until then, here are five things I learnt from our latest game:

1. Sanchez is our main man

Alexis Sanchez proved once again that he is our main man. Without the Chilean banging in the goals we would be even worse off in the Premier League and would struggle to find the back of the net. Sanchez is proving to be a key figure in this Arsenal side and when he plays there’s always a chance of a goal or assist coming from the forward.

2. We always qualify

No matter how hard we make it for ourselves, we always manage to qualify to the next phase of the Champions League. No Europa League for us this season, but hopefully we can finish top of the group and draw an ‘easier’ side in the next round.

3. We can keep a clean sheet if we want to

In our last three games (in all competitions) we conceded seven goals, but lost last night. We proved against a team known for its attacking flair and technique that we are more than capable of keeping a clean sheet if we really want to – if only we did so against Anderlecht.

4. Podolski’s time is done

Arsene Wenger’s decision to keep Lukas Podolski on the bench and start Yaya Sanogo pretty much says to me that the German’s time at the Emirates is over. Managed to get a few minutes last night, but I can’t see him remaining at the club after the January transfer window shuts.

5. Sanogo can score a goal in an Arsenal shirt

After almost a season-and-a-half at the club, Yaya Sanogo finally found the back of the net for Arsenal!

I think it will be better for us not to be underating our strengths. If we continue to talk that way, we might be making the Gunners to have the unfortunate belief that they will not be able beat a group stages table topper in the nock out stages. If Arsenal will prepare fully and even play better than they played against Dortmound, I personally believe, the Gunners will beat any team they meet in the nock out stages. When the time comes we will discuss more about it. For now, let us focus on our visit to the Hawthorns on Saturday.
