Will he be an Arsenal player this summer?

Sami KhediraArsene Wenger is preparing to launch a transfer deadline day move for Sami Khedira, according to the Daily Star.

Wenger surprised the footballing world last summer with his sensational big money move for Mesut Ozil, and hopes to repeat this with a swoop for his ex-Real Madrid team-mate Khedira.

The Frenchman will hope that a last minute deal will help lower the asking price for the 27-year-old, allowing Le Boss to offer the German midfielder a bumper deal at the Emirates.

Khedira has been on Wenger’s radar all summer, but the Frenchman will have to fend off interest from Chelsea and supposedly Bayern Munich to land him.

Khedira is said to be considering his options and with only a year left to run on his contract, Real will be keen to cash in on him rather than lose him on a free next summer.

Reports suggest Khedira wants to earn £150,000-a-week to join the Gunners which has thrown Wenger off his scent. As a result, Wenger is now pondering a late bid which he hopes will lower the price of the German international.

However, Wenger recently dismissed reports linking his side with a move Khedira, claiming he was never close to signing him:

‘I don’t know who has put him on the market.

‘We were never close to signing him, because Jack Wilshere has come back fit and in midfield we have offensive midfielders, we have box-to-box players, we have quite a few.’

It’s strange how this proposed move for Khedira has died down in recent weeks. We looked set to sign him with reports suggesting a fee for the German had been agreed but personal terms appeared to be the stumbling block.

However, Wenger has now said that they weren’t close to signing him!

Yes we do have plenty of midfielders in our squad as Wenger states, but signing a defensive one would be ideal.

I don’t think this Khedira move will be on the back of our papers from now until the end of the summer transfer window, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Wenger does decide to make a deadline day move for the German.

It will be interesting to see whether or not Wenger will attempt to bring him to the Emirates, especially if all of our midfielders are fit and available.

And if we have to be realistic sami khedira is the idea player a very well experienced top class player and probably a well experienced defender to replace vermalin. Den I can nw be rest assure we are gallant to face and compete for major trophies dis coming season. And I believe Wenger has got some money to spend and even get khedira as possible
