Wenger to cash in on forward with trio interested

|

Lukas PodolskiWell it looks almost certain that Lukas Podolski is set to leave Arsenal within the next seven days after the German forward was left out of yesterday’s squad against Everton.

The 29-year-old has struggled to cement a starting berth in Arsene Wenger’s side since joining the club from Cologne three years ago, and the Frenchman is considering the sale of Podolski with Galatasaray, Juventus and now Napoli interested.

Galatasaray have been long-term admirers of the German international and recently expressed fresh interest, while Juventus are reportedly in talks with the Gunners over a proposed deal.

But with Napoli now keen, as Rafa Benitez looks to strengthen his side, Wenger will look to trigger a bidding war between the three clubs.

Podolski still has two years left to run on his current deal at the Emirates and although a firm fan favourite, with his situation what it is, the German should consider his next destination.

It’s a shame Podolski struggled to fit into the side, and when he did play he was very inconsistent with his performances.

But with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla and even Joel Campbell all ahead of him in the pecking order, Podolski has sadly become surplus to requirements.

Good luck to him wherever he goes.

Winger’s son was preferred over Poldi. That’s why he did not have the chance to prove what a good player he is in the central position.

    Good luck Poldi.

I wish him well, cos he had realy struggled 2 established himself into arsenal first team shirt.I see as surplus only if wenger can deem it fit to buy a more prolific striker.

I hope poldi stays as he still has the ability to be a very important player in our squad.this is the problem at our club meaning when we buy we sell.we have the money to keep what we have and add to it,so this is what we should do.the only way to go the distance in the title race is to have real strength in depth and this is what we are still lacking in certain areas which was very evident as recent as yesterday at Everton.we need at least 2 defenders and 1 strong midfield defensive midfielder powerhouse to have a realistic title chance.I’d love to be more optimistic than this but I can only see another 3rd to 5th place finish unless Wenger buys these guys.monreal, flamini and arteta aren’t capable of stopping our main challengers.poldi will be missed, firm fans favourite myself included.thanks.
