Wenger still has work to do before deadline day

WengerArsene Wenger has done well in the summer transfer window, making some influential signings thus far.

I would like to focus on young Calum Chambers who has proven to be a potentially solid player in the first-team squad for years to come. His partnership with Laurent
Koscielny at the beginning of the season has been very good, and his ability can be clearly seen.

At 19, Chambers reads the game extremely well and possesses speed and energy, something which Arsenal have lacked in their defensive line.

But I do hope Wenger signs another centre-back before Monday’s deadline to replace Thomas Vermaelen, who signed for Barcelona week ago or do.

At the moment, Wenger can only depend on the services of German defender Per Mertersacker, Koscielny, Kieran Gibbs and Mathieu Debuchy as the senior defenders of the squad. But only two are centre-backs from that list.It would be fantastic if the club manages to sign another defender who can provide cover when one of the main men are unavailable.

With a few more quality signings added to the current squad, I believe Arsenal could cause a real threat this season.

Arsenal need to sign a defensive midfielder and recent reports suggest that Wenger is preparing to launch a bid for Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho, who can offer the Gunners real strength and options in midfield should other pick up injuries, like Mikel Arteta who is currently injured and, in my opinion, due to his lack of speed exposes the defence at times.

A player of Carvalho or Sami Khedira (if possible) would really be of good value to our side. We’ve learned that Olivier Giroud could be out for three months with an ankle injury, which has forced Wenger in a position where he may have to sign a new striker. And it seems the Frenchman is on the prowl already, with reports in France claiming Arsenal submitted an audacious bid for PSG Striker Edinson Cavani, which would be an amazing purchase from Wenger. Other options that should be considered should be Loic Remy of QPR and Radamel Falcao, with both, in my opinion, would really offer the much needed firepower we need this season.

Wenger has done well with transfers pretty early! But now is frustrating me! Obv he not gona say yh we will sign so n so, but I believe he won’t don’t get me wrong giroud is good and will be missed but we shuda had another striker long time ago even if poldi and alexis score goals we still need an out and out striker since r van pursestrings left everyone can see it but cos we don’t have a degree in management wenger don’t seem to listen I mean come ffs! Remy is available and way better than smokescreen zigic. If we sign him I won’t be watching us this season too much to take on. Good luck for tonite lads. Coyg! Not being negative trying to be realistic
