Arsenal star dismisses La Liga swith this summer

Arsenal fans will be pleased to hear that Santi Cazorla will NOT be leaving the Emirates this summer.

The 29-year-old has reportedly been on Atletico Madrid’s radar this summer but the Spain international has poured cold water on speculation linking him with a move to the La Liga Champions and says he is only focused on doing well for the Gunners this season.

When asked about the links to Atletico, Cazorla told Spanish radio Cadena Cope, as reported by the Daily Mail:

‘I’ve seen that in the papers, but nobody has told me anything personally and the only things I know are from the papers, so I don’t know anything.

‘I’m only focused on training here and preparing well playing with Arsenal. It’s paper talk.

‘I’m well, I have the confidence of everybody, the support of the fans and we hope to have a good season.’

Cazorla joined Arsenal from Malaga in 2012 and made an immediate impact in his debut season for the club, however, the Spaniard did not live up to same expectations last season, which led to him being linked with a move away from the club.

It’s great to hear that Santi is staying and fully focused on the season ahead.

Let’s hope he can deliver the goods and regain his form from his first season at the Emirates.
