Keep Carl JenkinsonHull are interested in signing Carl Jenkinson on loan, if the right-back is available, says Steve Bruce.

With the Gunners adding Mathieu Debuchy to their ranks and also close to acquiring Calum Chambers from Southampton, Jenkinson’s chances of first-team football for Arsene Wenger’s side this season looks limitless.

But Bruce is keen to take the 22-year-old to the KC Stadium on a temporary deal, where Jenkinson can gain further Premier League experience:

‘I had a conversation with Arsenal four or five weeks ago to say “would it be possible?”, and apparently it might be.

‘We’ll look at that situation.’

The Hull boss finished off by saying:

‘We haven’t had confirmation from Arsenal and I would hate to upset them by speaking out of turn but we are led to believe the kid might be available for loan.

‘If he is, then of course we would be interested.’

Should Chambers be signed, which appears to be the case for a fee reportedly between the £12-16 million mark, then Wenger should consider loaning out Jenkinson.

We won’t need three full-backs at the club this season and with Debuchy clearly going to be our number one right-back and Chambers you would think would be the back up option to the Frenchman, Jenkinson would be better off gaining first-team experience elsewhere.
