CasemiroAs we approach the end of the season, every Arsenal fan reading this will be thinking of potential targets their club should attempt to sign this summer. Some names may be considered by others, and several positions will need to be strengthened before the new season begins. A new goalkeeper (preferably an experienced one), right-back (should Bacary Sagna leave), defensive midfielder and most importantly a striker need to all be addressed by Arsene Wenger this summer.

I have a potential recruit for each position, but this piece will focus on who the defensive midfielder should be arriving to the Emirates this summer, and in my opinion, it should be Casemiro.

The 22-year-old Real Madrid midfielder arrived to the Bernabeu from Sao Paolo in a deal worth £5 million around 15 months ago and has impressed in his limited opportunities for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

But with the Brazilian behind Luka Modric, Xabi Alonso, Sami Khedira, and now even Angel Di Maria, who has been a revelation for Real in the centre this season, Ancelotti could well consider letting Casemiro, who has made only 15 appearances this campaign, depart either on a loan or permanent basis next season.

Arsenal have reportedly sent scouts to watch Casemiro and have already made enquiries into the availability of the robust midfielder.

It’s no secret that we do need to strengthen our midfield. Not the attacking side of it, but the defensive, with Mathieu Flamini being our only natural anchorman in the squad. Mikel Arteta has played in this position since his arrival from Everton almost three years ago but has struggled at times to either hold his position or track back. Clearly we need another man in the squad to sit alongside Flamini or replace the Frenchman when he is unavailable and Casemiro would be the ideal solution.

The Brazilian holds his position brilliantly, gets stuck in and would handle the combativeness of the Premier League with ease in my opinion. He also has some samba flair in his locker and can pick out a pass as well.

Having watched him this season for Real, I think Casemiro would be a great addition to the squad this summer. And if Ancelotti isn’t keen on selling the youngster outright then perhaps he would let him leave the Bernabeu on a temporary basis instead.

We are need of someone to protect the back four and is natural in doing so – Casemiro is that man.

Disagree the man they should get has already adapted to the premier league and has proved his worth this year that man is Morgan SCHNEIDERLIN this is a no brainer and to me a for better option than the Real Madrid man.

Both Casameiro and schedellin are just what need.

He would be a great addition to the club, but Lars Bender would be aswell. But Casemiro would be the cheaper one and therefor Arsenal would go for him. Either way those two would be great for our holding midfeild.
Then we need a new nr.1. Maybe Valdes or Cassiles. And most important a world class striker

We should go after bender. Much more experienced than casemiro and having played for bvb he is a better big match than schniderlin.

Wrong Bender dude! That’s Sven who’s playing for BVB. Arsene is chasing his twins Lars, a Leverkusen anchorman. Actually, I don’t quiet understand why Arsene rated him so high. He’s too thin for a six foot man. Not sure he has the body strength.
I prefer Pogba, but he’s might be to expensive. So, Casemiro will be find to me.
