Be careful what you wish for

Arsene WengerI’m reading a lot about how Arsene Wenger is to blame for Arsenal spiralling out of control as of late, seeing the club go from top of the table (challenging for the title) to now fighting to finish in the top four in the space of a few weeks. Yet the majority of the Emirates faithful have pointed the finger of blame firmly at the Frenchman, not at the players – which is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion.

Of course he does have to hold his hands up and accept the share of the blame for the club’s implosion, but what about the players? Do you not think they too should be blamed for our recent run of form and performances? Wenger instructs each and every one of them what to do and where they should be during the course of the game, but it’s not his fault if they don’t deliver the goods. As players representing the famous red and white of Arsenal, they should all look at themselves in the mirror and say ‘am I giving it my all?’ sadly, they aren’t, and that’s not Wenger’s error, its there’s.

Wenger still hasn’t confirmed whether he will stay beyond his existing contract, which expires at the end of the season, and you have a number of rash fans calling for the Frenchman to walk away after what they have seen in recent weeks – ludicrous!

Wenger has done so much for this club and he deserves respect, no matter the outcome this season.

What if he wins the FA Cup and manages to qualify for the Champions League? Would you still want him to leave?

And if he does decide to call it quits in the summer, who exactly will come in to replace him? I don’t see any top managers out of work at the moment, and those top managers I speak of are at elite clubs as well. Be careful what you wish for.

Yes we were challenging for the title up until February but fell flat on our faces, but last year we were nowhere near the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City – even United were on top of us and look where they are now!

Stop your moaning and be happy that Wenger has and continues to stabilise our club, and if we manage to lift the FA Cup at the end of May, as well as finish in the top four, then the Frenchman deserves to be applauded.

Deluded! He has to go. He knows he has no chance of turning this around.

Shut up u fake goner, do you think another top 4 club could survive without their 3 best players. Say Liverpool without Gerrard and the SAS, then think Rambo, Wilshere and Theo then hide your face in disgrace and shame, remember Ozil and never comment again looser.

While I agree with u that he is only man for the job but only if he listens this team will be unbeatable at any day, & he has to find a plan b coz plan a isn’t working for big games….. he should stop depending on injured players…. oh we’ve this player coming soon so no need to buy oh blah blah

We all agree Wenger has done a magnificent job in his time at the club but you said it yourself, “Wenger tells the players what to do and where to go”. “It’s not his fault if they don’t do it”. The problem is that Wenger is not tactically up to the level of his competitor managers in the Premier League and as a result, his instructions (or lack of different ones)to the players are why we constantly get embarrassed by the teams in the top six positions. He does not seem to realise doing the same thing time after time does not work when the opposition know how your team will play. He has no Plan B or C in his handbook, No coaching the defence on how to play a defensive game when necessary and he’s unable to inspire his players for the big games and doesn’t strike fear into them not to lose! We need someone with some balls to sort the team out and Wenger is that that man anymore.

Please don’t tell me there is no point in firing him in case we get someone worse! Man City, Chelsea, Southampton, Everton didn’t do too badly when they changed managers did they? Are you suggesting they should have kept their previous managers? A fatuous argument used by Wenger KNB’s to keep him in a job until he gets carried out in a box!

Reality awaits these people and I submit those people are diminishing in number very rapidly just lately!

I never write in caps but RAMBO OZIL WILSHERE THEO, 4 out of 5 of our best 1st team starting midfielders the hub and heart of our club’s very soul. I don’t want to hear any whinge-bags faithless and gutless stand up for you team and MAN THE HELL UP.

I’m with you bro. Every team goes through a bad patch but that doesn’t mean we have to change the manager. Nobody was saying Everton got a poor manager when we stuffed them 4-1, Tottenham spent 100m on any player linked with Arsenal but had to end up firing that guy who went the whole season unbeaten in portugal and won the europa league. People talk about signing a striker in January but nobody says who is available. Teams don’t want to sell their best players, we all know wat liverpool did to us.
AW knows there are problems in the team, he meant it when he said ‘we have to go back to basics.’ Obviously change will come one day but i still feel AW is the man to take us forward. The only manager who i feel is better than him in the EPL is Mourhino but i don’t see him leaving Chelski.

No one was saying all these gassed up negative things when we were top of the league with a whole team fit. Glory hunters will have to wait for their bragging rights and there backbone to arrive from ebay 2nd class recorded.
