AC Milan forward M’Baye Niang could be up for sale at the end of the season which could trigger Arsene Wenger’s interest.
The 19-year-old joined AC Milan from Caen in 2012 but has rarely featured for the Serie A outfit and was loaned out to Montpellier in January to gain more playing time.
Niang has scored three goals in 13 Ligue 1 appearances for Montpellier thus far.
Montpellier appear keen to sign the youngster on a permanent deal after his loan deal expires, but the club’s president Louis Nicollin has said AC Milan are pricing themselves out of a deal.
Quoted on talkSPORT.com, Nicollin said:
‘We will meet with Milan to talk about Niang because he is too expensive.’
Arsenal may re-ignite their interest in Niang as they look to bolster their attacking options ahead of next season’s campaign.
Personally, I don’t think he is good enough for Arsenal and would like to see our club sign a more established striker rather than one who is still learning his trade.
